Royals Challengers Bangalore (RCB) seamer Harshal Patel took his first career hat-trick against Mumbai Indians (MI). In the 17th over of the innings, Patel dismissed Hardik Pandya, Kieron Pollard and Rahul Chahar on the first three deliveries to complete his hat-trick.
The current purple cap holder revealed that during his celebration he had hurt his skipper Virat Kohli’s thigh. Along with Kohli, Mohammed Siraj was also a victim of Patel’s hat-trick celebration.
"That was the first thing I asked after the celebrations got over. Luckily, he (Siraj) is fine, said Patel. Moreover, I scratched Virat’s thigh as well, so did quite some damage," Patel said in a video posted on iplt20.com.
What Changes Patel has made
When asked what adjustments he has made to succeed in the UAE, he stated that he is in a good frame of mind and is fairly certain about the type of deliveries he will bowl in the death overs.
"Furthermore, the grounds in the UAE are larger and the pitches are slower, which fits his bowling style better," he added.
My secret to success is adaptation
Patel claims that he has psychologically prepared himself to adapt to a variety of circumstances and environments. And he is truly proud of his ability to work in a variety of situations. He's happy with the kind of rhythm he's in, whether it's his variations, slower bowls, or ability to bowl in death overs.
The RCB pacer is currently the highest wicket-taker in the tournament so far with 26 wickets from 11 matches. His form will undoubtedly be crucial to RCB's playoff chances.
