Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) leg-spinner Amit Mishra has equalled Lasith Malinga’s Indian Premier League (IPL) feat. Mishra has become the third-highest wicket-taker in IPL history. The veteran leggie now has 170 wickets from 158 games.

Mishra achieved the feat with the wicket of Gujarat Titans (GT) batter Abhinav Manohar at Ekana Cricket Stadium, Lucknow. Manohar went for a big shot but he was caught by Afghan player Naveen-ul-Haq.

Former West Indies pacer is on top of the list of highest wicket-takers in IPL history. Bravo has 183 wickets from 161 matches at an average of 23.82 including two four-fers. Rajasthan Royals (RR) leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal is likely to break Bravo’s record. He has 177 wickets from 137 games at an average of 21.59 including one fifer and two four-fers.

The 40-year-old has been used as impact player by LSG in this season. Against Titans, he bowled two overs and conceded just nine runs. He was substituted for Prerak Mankad before slog overs.

So far, he has taken four wickets in the season from four games. He has been economical as well conceding just 6.50 runs per over.

Mishra has represented four IPL franchises so far. LSG picked Mishra for his base price of Rs 50 lakh in the mini IPL auction. So far, they have managed to use him well.

LSG bowlers were exceptional against defending champions at their home. They restricted GT's first innings total to 135/6. Krunal Pandya picked two wickets and conceded just 16 runs from his two overs. Marcus Stoinis got two wickets as well. Leg-spinner Ravi Bishnoi was most expensive as he conceded just 49 runs from four overs.
