“Josh Hazlewood will take few more days to arrive in India as he is on break,” a source told Sports Tak.

Hazlewood's availability

Notably, Hazlewood was a part of the Australia squad during the Pakistan series. After joining the Bangalore-based franchise, Hazlewood will have to undergo a three-day quarantine as per the protocols set by Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).  After that the Aussie pacer will be available for the selection. In all likelihood, he will be available for selection by April 12 (Tuesday).

RCB are set to take on defending champions Chennai Super Kings (CSK) on April 12.

At the mega auction for IPL 2022, Hazlewood was roped in by RCB for an amount of Rs 7.75 crore. In IPL, he has picked up 12 wickets in 12 matches. Previously, he had represented Mumbai Indians (MI) and CSK in IPL.

In the previous edition of IPL, Hazlewood had played for CSK and had picked up 11 wickets in nine matches. Ahead of the IPL 2020, the Aussie pacer was roped in by the Chennai-based franchise for an amount of Rs 2 crore.

In IPL 2020, he managed to pick up just a wicket in three matches.

On the other hand, in 2021, Hazlewood exhibited his brilliance in international cricket also. The Aussie pacer was in sublime form in the tournament. Hazlewood (11 wickets) emerged as the second-highest wicket-taker for Australia in the 2021 T20 World Cup.

Notably, the Aaron Finch-led Australia team had lifted the 2021 T20 World Cup.

RCB in IPL 2022

Previously, RCB failed to start their IPL 2022 journey on a promising note after facing a five-wicket defeat against Punjab Kings (PBKS). In their second match, the Faf du Plessis-led team recorded a three-wicket victory against last year’s finalists Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR).

RCB currently stand at seventh spot (two points) in the IPL standings with a Net Run Rate (NRR) of -0.048.
