Delhi Capitals (DC) were at their best against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) with their former captain David Warner condemning the 2016 Indian Premier League (IPL) champions to a 21-run loss at the Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai on Thursday, May 5. Warner carried the bat for his team with an unbeaten 92 off 58 balls.

His brilliant innings, alongside Rovman Powell's quickfire 67 runs off 35 balls propelled DC to a competitive total of 207 runs, which turned out to be an unassailable target for the Sunrisers, who were bundled out for 186 runs, with only Aiden Markram (42 off 250 and Nicholas Pooran (62 off 34) firing for their side.

This was SRH's third consecutive loss, which dropped them down the points table to sixth, while Delhi were able to move up the ladder to fifth with 10 points, but a better Net Run Rate of 0.641 pushed them ahead of both Sunrisers and Punjab Kings (PBKS), both of whom have 10 points each as well.
