Gujarat Titans (GT) made up for their low score against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) with a brilliant bowling display that bundled their opponents for just 82 runs when the two sides met for their Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 match at the MCA Stadium in Pune on Tuesday, May 10. This win has pushed GT back to the top of the points table as the side are the first to qualify for this season's playoffs
Shubman Gill was their star batter on the night, scoring an unbeaten 49-ball 63 at a strike rate of 128.57. Setting a target of 144, the job at hand seemed tough but the GT bowlers, led by vice-captain Rashid Khan, picked up four wickets for just 24 runs to dismiss the LSG batters and secure a 62-run victory.
Meanwhile, third and fourth-placed Rajasthan Royals (RR) and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) begin their final push for a playoff spot. RR meet Delhi Capitals on Wednesday, May 11, in search of another victory, while RCB take on Punjab Kings (PBKS) in search of a comfortable cushion as they look to reach the playoffs.
