Dinesh Karthik batted with authority in his unbeaten 34-ball 66 before the bowlers staged a fine comeback as Royal Challengers Bangalore defeated Delhi Capitals by 16 runs in the Indian Premier League on Saturday. Karthik blazed away after Glenn Maxwell hit seven fours and two sixes in his 55 off 34 deliveries to take RCB to 189 for five. In reply, the Capitals could only manage 173 for seven despite David Warner's sensational 38-ball 66.

In another match, Lucknow Super Giants beat Mumbai Indians by 18 runs. Skipper KL Rahul (103 off 60) scored his maiden century of the season to guide LSG to 199 for 4 after being invited to bat first. In reply, MI were restricted to 181 for nine. LSG's Avesh Khan finished with excellent figures of 3/30 in four overs.

Let's have a look at the IPL 2022 Points Table:

Gujarat Titans remain the table toppers with eight points from five matches while LSG also have eight points from six games but are second due to an inferior Net Run Rate.

Meanwhile RCB took a significant jump towards top and moved up to third with their emphatic win on Saturday as they too are on eight points from six matches. Chasing them are Rajasthan Royals, who are in fourth position while Punjab Kings are fifth, Kolkata Knight Riders sixth and Sunrisers Hyderabad in seventh, with all four teams on six points.

Losers Delhi Capitals are eighth, with four points, while Chennai Super Kings are ninth with two. The winless Mumbai Indians meanwhile remain static as they sit at the bottom of the table.
