IPL 2022 retentions: With KL Rahul parting ways, Punjab Kings retain two Indian players

Punjab Kings (PBKS) have made up their mind once again to go big in the mega auctions. With skipper KL Rahul parting ways with the Punjab franchise, his opening partner Mayank Agarwal is the first pick alongwith uncapped left-arm pacer Arshdeep Singh. It will be interesting to see who will lead the Punjab franchise in absence of Rahul. However, during the announcement, head coach Anil Kumble termed Agarwal as a potential leader hinting that he will be the new captain of the side.

Mayank Agarwal (Rs 12 crore), Arshdeep Singh (Rs 4 crore)

 

Remaining purse - Rs 72 crores


Notable exclusions

Apart from Rahul, the notable exclusions are young leg-spinner Ravi Bishnoi and big-hitter Shahrukh Khan. The franchise did not retain their expensive Australian recruits Jhye Richardson and Riley Meredith as well.
