There is nothing that Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) skipper Aiden Markram can't do in the cricket field whether it's batting, bowling or fielding. SRH took on Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in match no.47 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 at the Rajiv Gandhi International stadium in Hyderabad on Thursday (May 4). Markram added yet another unbelievable catch to his ever-increasing list of stunning catches on the cricket field in the match against KKR.
After winning the toss, KKR captain Nitish Rana elected to bat first and got off to a shaky start as they lost three wickets inside the powerplay. Marco Jansen sent KKR opener Rahmanullah Gurbaz to pavilion without on a golden duck and then followed it up with Venkatesh Iyer's (7) wicket. Both the wickets fell in the same over. Kartik Tyagi gave KKR the biggest jolt in form of Jason Roy (20) whose dismissal left the former champions teetering at 35/3.
Captain Nitish Rana and Rinku Singh walked in the middle to steady KKR's boat. But before they develop a partnership Markram gave SRH an important breakthrough in the 12th over. Rana was looking settled in the pitch and was inching towards a big score after scoring a sedate 42 off 31 riding on three fours and as many sixes. But Markram dashed Rana's hopes as his slower delivery on the second ball of the 12th over saw the KKR skipper making an attempt for a slog sweep. In the process Rana ended up chipping the ball in the air off Markram's ball which was turning away from him. Initially it looked as if the ball will land in the no man's land and Rana will survive, but Markram ‘The Omnipresent’ took a breathtaking catch running towards the long-on. He made a full-stretch dive to grab the stunning catch to leave the onlookers in a sheer disbelief.

KKR ended up posting a competitive total of 171/9. In reply, SRH failed to chase down the target and lost the match by 5 runs despite Markram's 41 of 40.
