IPL 2023: Delhi Capitals' practice sessions reveal Rishabh Pant's wicketkeeping replacement?

There are only a few days remaining for the start of the 2023 season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) and all the teams are neck deep in preparations for the mega event as they prepare their best possible Playing XIs for the tournament.

One side that might be in peril heading into the opening stages of the tournament are the Delhi Capitals (DC) who are without a full-time wicketkeeper following the accident with Rishabh Pant in December 2022. In his absence, the three viable candidates are Sarfaraz Khan, Manish Pandey and Englishman Phil Salt.

In a recent video of a practice session that took place with the Capitals team at their home ground Arun Jaitley Stadium, the player who was involved with the most wicketkeeping practice was none other than Sarfaraz Khan, which might answer a lot of questions for the wondering fans.

Sarfaraz Khan, who has been scoring a lot in domestic cricket, was practicing with his keeping gloves on. The video of Sarfaraz's keeping drills is becoming viral on social media.

Delhi have another wicketkeeping option in Phil Salt. He was brought in at his base price of Rs 2 Crore, but because he is a foreign recruit, Salt might be omitted from the Playing XI as only four overseas players can be added to the starting XI.

Sarfaraz would like to prove himself again

Sarfaraz has a strike rate of 132.22 in T20 cricket. Many believe that the cricketer should be in contention for national team selection by the BCCI as well, and his chance with the Capitals in IPL 2023 will be the perfect opportunity to display his talent and prove his point.

The Mumbai batter has scored 532 runs in 46 matches in IPL so far. He made his IPL debut with the Kings XI Punjab but has not been given enough opportunities to prove his mettle.
