Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) are gearing up to take on Sunrisers Hyderabad at their own backyard Eden Gardens on Friday (April 14). After pulling off a thrilling win in their last match against defending champions Gujarat Titans (GT) riding on Rinku Singh's miraculous five sixes on the trot in the last over, the two-time champions will hope for a hat-trick of victories in the tie against SRH.

Meanwhile, right ahead of the KKR versus SRH clash, former England skipper, who had also led Kolkata-based franchise in the past, gave a major update on Jason Roy's availability in the match. Morgan feels Jason will not feature in the KKR's match against SRH at the Eden Gardens. KKR have fared well so far in the tournament and are sitting no.4 in the IPL 2023's points table while the Aiden Markram-led side are reeling at ninth place.

Morgan in an conversation with JioCinema said Jason would be delighted to be part of the KKR franchise while highlighting his exceptional form in the recently concluded Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2023 in which he struck a brilliant century for Peshawar Zalmi. The star English batter also belted a cracking ton against Bangladesh in the ODI series recently.

"I think Jason Roy is delighted to be part of the Knight Riders franchise. Conceding on the sidelines, out of form for a while, but in recent months he's been in impeccable form both for England and at the PSL," said Morgan.

Morgan further added that the 32-year-old will be ready to be called upon if needed but he feels the star English batter won't be playing the match against SRH.

"He will be ready to go if called upon. I don't see KKR making any drastic changes, so I don't think he will be in this game. Possibly down the line," Morgan added.

Jason was roped in by KKR for Rs 2.80 crore after Shakib Al Hasan pulled out from the cash-rich league due to international commitment and personal reason. Jason's availability will only bolster KKR's batting order going forward in the tournament.
