The former Lucknow Super Giants' star batter made his debut for Delhi Capitals in the Indian Premier League's (IPL) 2023 match against Delhi Capitals at the Baraspara Stadium on Saturday (April 8).
DC skipper David Warner announced Manish as Prithvi Shaw's replacement in the final XI and with this the 33-year-old scripted history in the glitzy league and joined Royal Challengers Bangalore's (RCB) Virat Kohli and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) skipper MS Dhoni in an elite list.
The star batter has become only the seventh player in the history of IPL to show up in at least one game in every season of the glitzy league so far.
Manish has featured in all 16 seasons of IPL. Manish started his IPL career playing against five-time champions Mumbai Indians (MI) in 2008. He was roped in by DC for a whopping Rs 2.40 crore in the mini-auction last year for the IPL 2023.

Manish has so far amassed 3648 runs in a total of 160 IPL matches. He rose to fame in IPL 2009 when he became the first Indian to score a ton in the cash-rich league being a uncapped player.
The other players who have featured in at least one game in every IPL season, MS Dhoni, Virat Kohli, Dinesh Karthik, Shikhar Dhawan, Rohit Sharma and Wriddhiman Saha.
However Manish failed the make the most of his debut as he was dismissed for a golden duck by by Trent Boult in the very first over of DC's innings.
Warner's decision to bowl first backfired for DC as Sanju Samson's RR posted a big total of 199/4 riding on Yashasvi Jaiswal's 60 off 31 and Jos Buttler's 79 off 51.
"Don't know what's gonna happen. Hopefully we will start well. Marsh has gone home to get married. All the best to him. There is one forced change with Powell coming in for Marsh. There are changes. Lalit comes in as well for Sarfraz. Manish Pandey comes in,” DC skipper Warner said after winning the toss.
“I think it looks a good wicket to bat on. Should be a high scoring game. Let's see how we turn up. With the impact rule, we can balance the side both ways. We can kind of manage. Jos is alright. We have a couple of changes. I am a bit confused. I will have to see the sheet as it keeps changing thanks to the impact rule,” RR Sanju Samson said after the toss.
