IPL 2023 Orange Cap: Faf du Plessis leads all batters by a significant margin, Virat Kohli in third place

The 16th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) is alive and kicking. A total of 31 matches have been played in IPL 2023 and the franchises involved have provided immense entertainment to their loyal supporters. After 23 days of action in the cash-rich tournament, all teams are gearing up for the business end of the competition. Punjab Kings won two crucial points away from home after registering a fantastic win against Mumbai Indians at the Wankhede Stadium on April 22 (Saturday).

When it comes to the race for Orange Cap, Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) captain Faf du Plessis leads the chart while his opening partner former captain Virat Kohli is in third place on the list.

1. Faf du Plessis: The stylish right-handed batter has aggregated 343 runs in six matches at a strike rate of 166.50 and an average of 68.60.

2. David Warner: The Delhi Capitals' captain has registered 285 runs in six matches so far at a strike rate of 120.76 and an average of 47.50.     

3.  Virat Kohli: The former Royal Challengers Bangalore skipper and maverick batter, Virat Kohli has scored 279 runs in six matches at a strike rate of 142.35 and an average of 55.80.

4. KL Rahul: Lucknow Super Giants' skipper has scored 262 runs in seven matches at a strike rate of 113.91 and an average of 37.43.

5. Devon Conway: Chennai Super Kings' opening batter has scored 258 runs in six matches at a strike rate of 144.13 and average of 51.60.

6. Jos Buttler: The swashbuckling right-handed batter has so far scored 244 runs in six matches at a strike rate of 146.99 and an average of 40.67.

7. Kyle Mayers: Lucknow Super Giants' opening batter has scored 243 runs in seven matches at a strike rate of 150.93 and an average of 34.71.

8. Ruturaj Gaikwad: Chennai Super Kings' opening batter has scored 235 runs in six matches at a strike rate of 144.17 and an average of 47.
