IPL 2023 Orange Cap: After whirlwind debut century, RR's Yashasvi Jaiswal skyrockets to the top

It was a fantastic Sunday for cricket on April 30, with matches in both the Wankhede Stadium and the Chepauk Stadium going on to become thrillers that went to the final over of the match. Heroes on the night went on to do very well in the eventual Orange Cap standings at the end of a day that saw over 800 runs scores between the Chennai Super Kings (CSK), Punjab Kings (PBKS), Mumbai Indians (MI) and the Rajasthan Royals (RR).

The hero was undoubtedly Yashasvi Jaiswal, whose century propelled him to the top of this list. In such a scenario, let's take a closer look at the leading run-scorers in IPL 2023 so far:

2. Faf du Plessis: The stylish right-handed batter has aggregated 422 runs in eight matches at a strike rate of 167.46 and an average of 60.29.

3. Devon Conway: Chennai Super Kings' opening batter has scored 414 runs in seven matches at a strike rate of 144.25 and an average of 59.14.

4. Ruturaj Gaikwad: Chennai Super Kings' opening batter has scored 354 runs in seven matches at a strike rate of 145.67 and an average of 44.25.

5. Virat Kohli: The stand-in Royal Challengers Bangalore skipper and maverick batter, Virat Kohli has scored 333 runs in eight matches at a strike rate of 142.31 and an average of 47.57.

6. Shubman Gill: The stylish opening batter has scored 333 runs in seven matches at a strike rate of 142.30 and an average of 41.62.

7. David Warner: The Delhi Capitals' captain has registered 306 runs in seven matches so far at a strike rate of 118.60 and an average of 38.25.  

8. Kyle Mayers: Lucknow Super Giants' skipper has scored 297 runs in seven matches at a strike rate of 160.54 and an average of 37.12.
