The 16th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) is alive and kicking. A total of 50 matches have been played in IPL 2023 while the franchises involved have provided immense entertainment to their loyal supporters. After more than a month of action in the cash-rich tournament, all the teams are gearing up for the business end of the competition.
On May 6 (Saturday), Chennai Super Kings and Delhi Capitals bagged two crucial points after winning their respective matches against Mumbai Indians and Royal Challengers Bangalore respectively.
Let's take a closer look at the IPL 2023 points table so far:
1. Gujarat Titans: The defending champions continue to be at the top of the points table with seven wins in 10 matches played. They have earned 14 points and a Net Run Rate (NRR) of 0.752.
2. Chennai Super Kings: The Men in Yellow are second after their win over Mumbai Indians. They now have six wins in 11 matches played. They have an NRR of 0.409 and 13 points to their name.
3. Lucknow Super Giants: Krunal Pandya's men are now third on the points table. LSG have won five out of their ten matches so far and have an NNR of 0.639 and 11 points.
4. Rajasthan Royals: Sanju Samson's side have slipped to fourth place on the points table. They have five wins and five defeats in 10 matches played so far. The Royals have earned 10 points with an NNR of 0.448.
5. Royal Challengers Bangalore: The Red Army has five wins in 10 matches this season so far. With an NRR of -0.209 and 10 points.
6. Mumbai Indians: Rohit Sharma's men started their campaign with successive defeats but they won three consecutive matches before losing two consecutive matches again. They bounced back with consecutive wins but lost against. They have 10 points after playing 10 matches.
7. Punjab Kings: The Punjab-based franchise now have five wins in 10 matches played. They now have 10 points with an NRR of -0.472.
8. Kolkata Knight Riders: In nine matches played, KKR have lost six games but returned to winning to register their fourth on Thursday night. They are in the eighth spot with an NRR of -0.103.
9. Delhi Capitals: David Warner's team has eight points after playing 10 matches with an NRR of -0.529.
10. Sunrisers Hyderabad: The Orange Army is at the bottom of the points table. They have six points with an NRR of -0.540 in nine matches played.
