IPL 2023: Tushar Deshpande reacts after Dhoni's blow-up on No-ball drama during CSK vs LSG clash

After losing their Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 opener against Gujarat Titans (GT), Chennai Super Kings (CSK) got back to winning ways as they defeated Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) by 12 runs on April 3 (Monday).

But despite posting a colossal target of 218, CSK didn't win the match by any big margin and the reason behind this was the umpteen extras in form of wides and no balls during the match which left skipper Dhoni fuming. CSK bowlers conceded 13 wides and three no-balls during LSG's batting.

CSK did win the match, but captain cool apparently lost his cool in the post match presentation ceremony and went on to warn their bowlers to mend their way or better find a new captain. The main defaulter was Tushar Deshpande who bowled an 11-ball over. The CSK skipper issued a warning for his bowlers as they continuously erred in their lines and conceded far too many extras.

"One more thing is they'll have to bowl no no-balls or extra wides. Or they'll have to play under a new captain. It will be my second warning and then I'll be off. Only reason we've scored those runs is if the surface is nice." Dhoni told the host broadcaster.

Meanwhile, Deshpande has finally gave his reaction on the entire saga as he admitted that bowling no-ball is a crime in the slam bang cricket. But instead of complaining about the issue Deshpande is looking forward to improve and contribute to his team in the best possible way.

"I am a firm believer of the present; what's gone is gone. Bowling no ball is a crime in T20 cricket but if I keep cribbing about it, I might have given away ten extra runs and the results might have gone either way. So I was just focused on making a good comeback. I kept telling myself that you can win the game for the team," Deshpande said in the presser.

Deshpande also said that he will learn the art of death-bowling from CSK's bowling coach Dwayne Bravo.

"Death bowling is not easy. I am still learning; we have a great death bowler as our bowling coach DJ Bravo and I am just trying to pick his brains. My role is quite similar to what Bravo has done over the years for CSK. I can't fill his shoes but I am trying to learn slog-overs bowling skills from him," he explained.

The four-time champions CSK will next face five-time title holders Mumbai Indians in Mumbai on April 8.
