RR's run in IPL 2022

The champions of inaugural IPL were very impressive in the last season. After a long gap of 14 years they progressed to the final only to lose to Hardik Pandya-led Gujarat Titans. Under the leadership of Sanju Samson, Royals were not afraid to experiment. Whether it was sending Ashwin up the order to counter-attack or retiring him in the slog overs, Royals were game-changers of the tournament. In the league stage, they won nine out of 14 games and finished second on the basis of slightly better net run rate compared to Lucknow Super Giants (LSG). They also beat LSG in the second qualifier to advance to the final.
