The stage is set for the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 which is slated to start from March 31 (Friday) which will see Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and defending champions Gujarat Titans locking horns with each other in the season opener.
Meanwhile, right ahead of the sixteenth season of the glitzy league, former England skipper Michael Vaughan has made a big prediction on the IPL 2023's winners. Vaughan, who never minces his words in putting out his opinions and expressing himself said that he is looking forward to the IPL 2023.
Vaughan is rooting for Sanju Samson's Rajasthan Royals (RR) and wants them to win the IPL 2023. "I think it’s going to be @rajasthanroyals year .. they will be lifting the trophy in late May .. #OnOn #IPL2023," Vaughan tweeted. RR clinched the IPL 2008 title in its inaugural season and ever since they haven't managed to taste the glory.
Samson's RR came pretty close to IPL title last year when they lost to Gujarat Titans in the summit clash and they had to finish as runners up despite putting an exceptional show throughout the season. With nine wins and five defeats, Rajasthan Royals picked up 18 points from 14 matches last season.
Meanwhile, Vaughan's prediction had Twitterati's opinions split as fans started picking their own favourites for IPL 2023 title while some disagreed with the English great.
