Chennai Super Kings (CSK) star all-rounder became the first Indian left-arm spinner to take 200 wickets in T20 cricket. Jadeja took Rajasthan Royals (RR) skipper Sanju Samson’s wicket to get to the milestone. Jadeja also equalled former CSK spinner Ravichandran Ashwin’s tally of wickets for the MS Dhoni-led side.

Ashwin played for CSK from 2009 to 2015. He took 120 wickets from 121 games at an average of 23.70 including one four-fer. Jadeja has 120 wickets from 160 games for CSK at an average of 28.16 including one fifer.

While Jadeja is the first left-arm spinner from India to achieve this feat, Mumbai Indians (MI) Jaydev Unadkat is the first to breach the 200 wickets mark for a left-arm bowler from India.

He got the set batter Devdutt Padikkal's wicket in the ninth over breaking the 77-run partnership for the second wicket. Padikkal went for the big shot but got caught by Devon Conway on the boundary. In the same over, Jadeja bowled a faster one into the stumps. Samson got bowled for a two-ball duck. He had a chance to surpass Ashwin with his wicket only but Moeen Ali dropped the catch at first slip.

Jadeja achieved the feat in Dhoni's 200th game as CSK's captain. Before the game, the southpaw said that he wants to gift a win against Royals to Dhoni.

“What can I say. He is a legend of not only CSK, he is a legend of Indian cricket. I would like to wish him good luck” Jadeja had said.

"Hopefully, we will win the game tomorrow and give it as a gift to him on his 200th match as captain. Hope to continue the momentum of how we have played in the last two games."
