#RedTurnsBlue! RCB change colours for the day in support of MI

Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) have put their weight behind the Mumbai Indians, who face Delhi Capitals (DC) in their final Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 game of the season at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Saturday, May 21. DC are currently in a prime position to qualify for the playoffs with a win over Mumbai, and on the other hand, if MI beat DC then RCB have confirmed their place in the top four by virtue of their superior points.

Sharing their support for the five-time IPL champions Mumbai, RCB have changed their colours to 'blue' for the day, in support of Rohit Sharma and his team as they look to finish the season off the bottom of the points table. RCB changed their logo's background colour from their distinct red to MI's blue, as they expect the side to create an upset against the Rishabh Pant-led team.

The IPL side also posted a picture on Instagram. It was a postcard with a personalised message for the Mumbai players saying, "Hey @MIPaltan, the entire RCB team will cheer for you like #OneFamily you go #PlayBold against DC!"

They also added a caption in support of the post, saying, "#RedTurnsBlue for today! A letter to Mumbai Indians from RCB. We’re backing you to #PlayBold all the way. Go get ‘em, champs!"

MI themselves have an opportunity to move off the bottom of the table, taking Chennai Super Kings' (CSK) ninth place on the table. Mumbai will require a victory of more than 50 runs or they will have to chase the target down with 5 or 6 overs in hand, that is by the 14th or the 15th over of the innings, if they bat second.

If the results go the way MI want, it will also ensure the no. of points acquired by both CSK and MI is equal and since MI’s NRR will be better in that scenario, they will move to the 9th position in the table. But, it is very, very unlikely for both these results to go MI’s way by as much of a margin as they need to finish ninth on the points table.
