"Rishabh Pant will not be available for the IPL. I am in connection with DC. It will be a great IPL. We will do well. Rishabh Pant's Injury will affect DC," told reporters in Kolkata.

Pant on January 06 (Friday) underwent successful surgery for a ligament tear on his right knee he sustained during the horrific car crash. The surgery was carried out on by a team of doctors led by Dr. Pardiwala at Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital in Mumbai. Pant responded well to the treatment and was kept under observation for three days

The star Indian cricketer sustained gruesome injuries in a devastating car crash on December 30, 2022. According to an earlier medical report released by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), the 25-year-old sustained "two cuts on his forehead, a ligament tear in his right knee and has also hurt his right wrist, ankle, toe and has suffered abrasion injuries on his back."

As things stand right now, Pant is likely to be sidelined for at least four to six months. If reports are to be believed, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) officials are hoping that the swashbuckling batter will recover from his injuries just in the nick of time to be available for World Test Championship (WTC) final which is scheduled to be played in June.

Meanwhile, former India captain and Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) president, Ganguly recently joined Delhi Capitals as the Director of Cricket. In IPL 2019, Ganguly was associated with the Delhi-based franchise as an 'Advisor' before becoming the president of the Indian cricket board.
