In just over 24 hours' time, the greatest T20 franchise cricket league in the world will take center stage for the 16th time and fans are already licking their lips in anticipation of watching the greatest contemporary cricketers display their mercurial talent. The Indian Premier League (IPL) will commence on March 31 (Friday) and 10 franchises would look to put their best foot forward in an attempt to secure the glittering silverware. The players have been training rigorously with their respective franchises.
The most-successful IPL franchise - Mumbai Indians - performed poorly in 2022, and this time, their charismatic skipper Rohit Sharma would be tasked to turn the franchise's fortunes around. The Hitman was in decent form with the bat and if one goes by Mumbai Indians' practice sessions, Rohit looks in destructive touch with the bat.
In a video shared by the Mumbai-based franchise on their social media account, the stylish right-handed batter unleashed a monstrous six. The most beautiful part about the shot was the sound when the ball hit Rohit's willow.

The Men in Blue will begin their campaign against the Royal Challengers Bangalore on April 2 (Sunday) at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. The five-time champions will be without their premier pacer Jasprit Bumrah for the entire competition as the right-am fast bowler is undergoing rehabilitation after back surgery.
Talking about Rohit, the Hitman is likely to miss a few matches in the upcoming edition of the cash-rich tournament in order to manage his workload. In the press conference ahead of the season, Mumbai head coach Mark Boucher, however, came up with an interesting answer when asked about managing Rohit's workload.
âIn regards to resting Rohit, he is the captain. Hopefully he gets into some sort of form and hopefully does not want to rest, but we will be adapt to whatever the situation is,â Boucher said in a press conference
"If I can get the best out him as a captain and a player, it will be great and that means that if he wants to rest for one or two games then I will do that. No problem," he added.
