Watch: Virat Kohli furious after nasty collision between Mohammed Siraj, Dinesh Karthik leads to dropped catch

Virat Kohli has high standards when it comes to fielding. A dropped catch often prompts a response from Kohli who is always expressive on the field. In the clash against Mumbai Indians (MI), Rohit Sharma got a reprieve when a nasty collision between Mohammed Siraj and wicketkeeper Dinesh Karthik led to a dropped catch.

The incident took place in the fifth over. Siraj bowled a short ball, Rohit went for his trademark pull shot but all he could get was a top edge. The ball ballooned up in the air but both Siraj and Karthik went for the catch. Siraj got his hands on the ball but dropped it upon impact. Kohli was furious at his teammates as they missed an easy opportunity to dismiss MI skipper.

Siraj was down the ground for a while. But after some medical attention on the field, he got ready to bowl again and finished his over.

Rohit could not make RCB pay for dropping him. In the next over, Akash Deep forced an outside edge off Rohit's bat. Rohit had a terrible stay at the crease and managed to score just a single run off 10 balls.

Siraj was sensational in his first spell as he conceded just five runs from three overs in the powerplay overs. He also took the wicket of MI wicketkeeper-batter Ishan Kishan in his second over.

MI's big shots struggled in the middle. Cameron Green failed on his IPL debut and got bowled by England left-arm pacer Reece Topley after scoring just five runs. Suryakumar Yadav could not break free either and lost his wicket to Michael Bracewell after scoring just 15 runs from 16 balls. Later, big hitter Tim David failed to make a mark and got bowled by leg-spinner Karn Sharma. It was Tilak Varma who led MI to a respectable total with his half-century.

In RCB’s innings, there was another injury. Topley injured his right shoulder while diving in the seventh over. He left the field with the help of physio and did not take further part in the game. Earlier he got Green's wicket with a yorker.
