Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 is just around the corner but Virat Kohli has managed to break the internet with something he did off the field. Kohli who is the highest run-scorer among current batters took to social media and shared his 10th class marksheet on micro-blogging website Koo.
"It's funny how the things that add the least to your marksheet, add the most to your character," the former RCB skipper wrote in the caption of his post.
Kohli had earlier mentioned in one of his interactions that he did not used to do well in mathematics. He scored the least in the subject, getting 51 marks. He scored the most in English at 83 and got an A1 grade.
Kohli will head into the 16th season of IPL with 6,624 runs under his belt, the most by an batter in the history of cash-rich league. He scored at an average of 36.19 and strike rate of 129.14. He has five centuries and 44 half-centuries.
The 34-year-old recently ended his century drought in Test cricket with a gutsy knock in Ahmedabad Test against Australia. High on confidence, Kohli will have responsibility on his shoulders in the absence of hard-hitter Glenn Maxwell who won’t be available in the initial games.
Kohli is the only player who has played for just one franchise since the inaugural season. RCB are one of the few franchises who are yet to add a trophy in their cabinet. Recently, former Indian cricketer Sanjay Manjrekar predicted that RCB are likely to win the trophy for the first time.
"Yes, I feel Virat Kohli's dream of winning the trophy will come true this time. They have a wonderful bowling attack. If Faf du Plessis scores runs, they will have a great chance," Sanjay Manjrekar said while speaking to ESPNcricinfo.
Recently Kohli had lauded RCB fans for supporting them over the years. He also termed them as best fans in the world.
"It is phenomenal what this franchise and this fan base has done over the years because these two guys are from different countries and look at what amount of love they've received and accepted them as their own. This is beyond the game, this is beyond what we do on the field. This is pure connect that's why we mean it when we say that we have the best fans in the world. This is what they do to the players," Kohli had said in the RCB podcast.
