Big blow to RCB as England all-rounder with 140 sixes ruled out of IPL 2023, New Zealand batter expected to replace

Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) dealt a huge blow just a couple of weeks ahead of Indian Premier League (IPL 2023. England all-rounder Will Jacks has been ruled out of IPL 2023 due to an injury he sustained during second ODI of the three-ODI series against Bangladesh in Mirpur.
 

Possible replacement
 

Jacks recently made his T20I debut against Bangladesh in which Jos Buttler-led side suffered a rare clean sweep. According to ESPNCricinfo RCB in talks with New Zealand all-rounder Michael Bracewell to replace Jacks in the squad. In the auction, he had a base price of Rs 1 crore and did not interest any of the franchises.
 

Bracewell’s numbers
 

Bracewell has scored 2,284 runs from 117 T20s at an average of 30.86 including one century and 13 half-century. He is handy with the ball as well. He has taken 40 wickets at an average of 14.65. Also, the off-spinner has an economy rate of 6.52. Earlier this year, Bracewell proved his mettle with a century while chasing a mammoth total against India in the ODI series.
 

Jacks’ numbers
 

Jacks was picked in the IPL auction for Rs 3.20 crore after a bidding war with Rajasthan Royals (RR). He had set a base price of Rs 1.5 crore. The 24-year-old is yet to prove himself in the international arena. He has scored 2,802 runs from 109 T20s at an average of 29.80 including one century and 23 half-centuries. With the ball, he has 26 wickets at an average of 23.57 and an economy rate of 7.25.
 

RCB’s first clash
 

RCB will kick off their campaign against five-time IPL winners Mumbai Indians on April 2 at their home ground, M Chinnaswamy Stadium.
