Indian pacer and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) star Harshal Patel has penned an emotional letter for his late sister who passed away after their win over the Mumbai Indians (MI). The right-arm medium pacer had left the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 bio-bubble in the wake of his sister's demise. Harshal returned to the RCB camp for their match against Delhi Capitals (DC) on Saturday (April 16).

On Sunday, the Indian speed merchant took to social media to pay respects to his sister. Taking to Instagram after Bangalore's win over the Rishabh Pant-led side, Harshal shared a heartfelt post for his sister on the social media platform. In the post, Harshal recalled the memorable moments he shared with his sister during his life.

Further he revealed that his sister had faced incredible difficulties in her life, but faced them head-on with a big smile on her face. "Didi, you were one of the kindest and most joyful person in our lives. You faced incredible difficulties in life with a big smile on your face till your last breath. When I was with you in the hospital before I came back to India you told me to focus on my game and don’t worry about you. Those words was the only reason I could come back and take the field last night," Patel wrote in the post.

After missing RCB's clash with defending champions Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in edition 15 of the cash-rich league, Harshal returned to the team's playing XI against the Capitals. The RCB pacer bowled four overs and gave away 40 runs against DC in the match that was being played at the Wankhede Stadium. While Patel went wicketless against DC, Australian speedster Josh Hazlewood bagged three wickets to set up a thrilling 16-run win for the Faf du Plessis-led RCB side.

With eight points from 6 games, the Bangalore giants are placed third in the IPL 2022 standings.
