In a massive milestone during his 400th T20 match on March 22nd, Virat Kohli achieved a remarkable feat in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 opener. He has become the first player to accumulate 1000 runs or more against four separate IPL franchises, solidifying his place in the tournament's history.
During the IPL 2025 opening match at Eden Gardens, Virat Kohli, in his 35th IPL appearance against Kolkata Knight Riders, reached the milestone of scoring 1000 runs against that particular team.
Virat Kohli, the IPL's highest run-scorer, required 38 runs in the match against KKR to achieve the milestone of 1000 runs against that franchise. He successfully reached this target by taking a single off the fifth delivery of the 10th over during the run chase, bowled by Sunil Narine.
Virat Kohli, who scored a 36-ball 59 in RCB's 7-wicket win over KKR, has joined an exclusive club, becoming the third player, after David Warner (1093 runs) and Rohit Sharma (1070 runs), to score 1000 or more runs against the three-time IPL champions within the Indian Premier League.
