Dewald Brevis goes down and has a big swipe across the line but fails to pick it. The ball goes past the inside edge and shatters into the off pole. FOUR! Finds the gap! Tossed up, full and on off, Ruturaj Gaikwad goes down on one knee. He drags his sweep but nails it between deep square leg and deep mid-wicket for a boundary.

OUT! BOWLED'EM! Shahbaz Ahamad with a brillaint reply. He bowls this flatter, fuller and on middle, skids through a bit. Ruturaj Gaikwad anticipates a shorter length and rocks back to pull it away but the length is just not there for the shot. He plays all over it as the ball goes through and rattles the stumps behind him. CSK are 149/3, still needing 55 runs in 43 balls.

FOUR! Dewald Brevis is off the mark with some style! Much fuller from Shahbaz Ahamad, on middle. Dewald Brevis leans toward the delivery and uses his bottom hand to loft it over the bowler. The ball races away to downtown for four runs.

Mohammad Shami rejoins the attack and is ready to bowl his last over. He delivers fuller, on off, Ruturaj Gaikwad plants his front foot toward it and works it across the line to long on for a single.

Avesh Khan returns into the attack and starts off with a high bumper, which is given as a wide. Avesh Khan is not looking happy and Lucknow Super Giants have challenged the decision. Short of a length, wide outside off. Kartik Sharma at first looks to have a shot at it, but ends up leaving it. The umpire calls the wide due to height. The reply shows that the delivery is legal as the ball is the same height as the height of the batter and not more than it. Super Giants retain their review and the on-field decision has been reversed.

OUT! CAUGHT! Shahbaz Ahamad does finally manage to bring the demise of Urvil Patel, but what a knock he's played here. And he's also put CSK well ahead in the game. Ahamad drags the length back and fires it wide outside the off stump. Patel reaches out and laces the flat-batted shot but hits it straight to the deep cover fielder. Avesh Khan hangs on to a fine low catch and Patel is unhappy with that shot. 78 needed now off 64 balls.

Prince Yadav starts off with a slower bouncer, just outside off. Urvil Patel pulls it down to the right side of the bowler.

That's good pace and carry from Prince Yadav. Banged in halfway down the pitch, quick and outside off. Patel looks to hop up and uppercut but the ball flies past him.

DROPPED! How's he managed to put that down? Prince Yadav continues with the short stuff and angles it into the batter. The ball comes in around shoulder height, an awkward height to deal with and Urvil Patel tries to take it on. He ends up splicing it towards the point region, where Digvesh Singh strolls to his right and almost starts celebrating before having a grasp on the ball. Digvesh ends up spilling the ball and it goes off his body behind. The batters get a couple of runs as well.

In the air... but dropped safely! Good-length delivery, slanting in, on middle. Urvil Patel looks to heave it across the line, but miscues the shot. The ball balloons and drops much short of the deep mid-wicket fielder. Single taken.

Patel can't get that one away either and lets out a frustrated grunt. Back of a length and outside off, slightly slower. Patel tries to drag pull towards deep mid-wicket but gets an under edge that rolls behind the stumps.

FOUR! Nearly six 6s in a row for Urvil Patel. Full and angled across the off stump, Patel throws the kitchen sink at it but ends up slicing it over cover-point for a boundary.

SIX! This is unbelievable hitting. Patel is on 41 off 8 balls. Tossed up around middle, Patel stands tall and just tees off again, doesn't matter where the ball is pitching, he's just swinging for the fences and connecting every ball. This one is smoked over deep mid-wicket for a 98-meter biggie.

Just a single, but 25 runs come off this over as well, 50 off the last 2. Bowled from over the wicket and into the pitch. Patel swings across the line again but gets it off the inside half of the blade and down to deep mid-wicket for one. He's still on course to notch up a half century in just 11 balls, which would be a record. CSK are 97/1 at the end of the Powerplay.

SIX! Swung away and that's travelled the distance as well. Fractionally short on middle, slides on nicely. Ruturaj Gaikwad clubs the pull shot between long on and deep mid-wicket and picks up six runs. 50 UP FOR CSK!

Better length from Avesh. Around the top of off, angling in, Gaikwad watchfully pushes it out.

Good length again, a smidge fuller and in the channel. Gaikwad plays it with soft hands, guiding it behind point for a run.

SIX! Wow, that came out of nowhere. Just a regulation length ball over middle, Urvil Patel lines it up early and just swings for the fences. He gets a hold of it and the ball goes a long, long way over the deep mid-wicket fence.

SIX! That's been pummeled for another six. Short of a length, a nothing delivery really. Patel lines it up again, and flat-bats it wide of long on for another biggie. 

SIX! A hat-trick of sixes to end the over, 25 off it, and Avesh Khan is left scratching his head. Khan goes fuller but serves it in the slot around off stump. Patel leans across and heaves across the line, smashing the ball over deep mid-wicket for yet another biggie.

The three-quarter length, on off and darts back in. Samson blocks it off.

FOUR! Forced over the infield. Good length, around the top of off and middle, Samson gets leg side of the ball and hits through the line, getting it over mid off for a boundary.

SIX! Mid off gets pushed back to long off but it doesn't matter. Tossed up, much fuller on off, no turn on offer. Sanju Samson backs away again and swings through the line of the ball, hitting it very high and long over long off for a biggie.

OUT! TIMBER! A deafening silence inside the Chepauk as Digvesh Singh gets his revenge on Sanju Samson. Smartly bowled by Digvesh as he slows it up and drags the length back a touch as well. This one lands on off and comes back in a bit and this time Sanju Samson looks to swing across the line. He is through his shot way too early and the ball goes on to smash into the middle stump. A breezy start for Sanju comes to an end as LSG get a huge wicket.

Fullish length on off, Patel punches it past the diving fielder at short cover and gets it to mid off for a quick single.

Tap and run. Fullish length again, just outside off. Gaikwad leans on and bunts it into the off side for another quick single.

On a good length and around the pads, nudged away straight to the square leg fielder.

Oh, that's not far away from the stumps. Length ball, nips back in a bit as well. Samson looks to the big heave leg side but misses and the ball just goes a shade over the middle stump.

FOUR! Wonderful hands from Sanju Samson. Good length again, outside off, no foot movement from Samson, and he just extends the arms strokes it over extra cover for a boundary.

Full and outside off, Samson backs away to go over the off side but has to reach for it and slices it down to deep third for one.

Fullish length on midle and leg, clipped away to mid-wicket.

FOUR! Banged away! Dug in a bit short and over off and middle, sits up for the batter. Gaikwad presses back and smacks the pull well in front of square on the leg side and picks up a boundary.

SIX! Dispatched into the stands. A loosener from begin with from Yadav, shorter and around the hips. Sanju Samson swivels and pulls it high and handsome over deep mid-wicket for a biggie.

Hard length, too straight again, tucked off the hips and behind square leg for a single.

Easy two. Fuller than a good length, jags back in towards middle stump. Gaikwad tucks it away wide of mid-wicket and jogs back for the second run.

SIX! Swivel and pull, the whistles are unstoppable from the home crowd now. Dug in short and at the batter, Gaikwad picks the length early, gets inside the line and hammers the pull over fine leg for a six.

A bit of shape first up for Shami. Good-length delivery, in the channel and shaping away. Sanju Samson hangs back to punch it away but jams it into the off side.

FOUR! That's a poor line from Shami and Samson is away with a boundary. Just back of a length, straying onto the pads, Samson gets inside the line and helps it on its way down to fine leg for the first boundary of the chase.

A misfield now and Samson picks up the single. Hard length outside off, Sanju stands tall and taps it firmly to the point fielder, who fumbles and allows the single.

FOUR! That's class from Ruturaj Gaikwad. A tad fuller now, swinging away but there's some width on offer as well. Gaikwad stays back and waits well before reaching out and cutting it hard between point and cover-point for a boundary.

The inswinger now from Shami, full and attacking the stumps. Gaikwad does well to clip it away to mid on and picks up a single.
