Highlights:

Rain is expected to play spoilsport in the first Test of the series.

On October 16, IND vs NZ Day 1 was called off due to rain.

India vs. New Zealand's first Test match, Day 1, was called off due to persistent rain at the wet outfield at M. Chinnasawamy Stadium, Bengaluru. The weather forecast for October 17 (DAY 2) doesn't look promising. There are chances that the toss will be delayed, and in that case, the Rohit Sharma-led side needs to play attacking cricket like they played against Bangladesh in Kanpur if they are looking for a winning start. India need to win all three Test matches against New Zealand to seal their berth in the World Test Championship final which is scheduled to be played at the iconic Lord’s, between June 11 and 15 next year.

Bengaluru Weather Update for Day 2:

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted significant rainfall for Bengaluru and nearby regions in coastal, north interior, and south interior Karnataka until October 18. The city is expected to remain under overcast skies for the next three to four days. On Thursday, isolated heavy rain is anticipated in Udupi, Uttara Kannada, Shivamogga, Chikkamagaluru, Chitradurga, Davangere, and Tumakuru districts.
