He was later also seen talking to the match referee.

Rohit Sharma was seen having a chat with match referee David Boon around the balcony. However, it was a completely normal conversation unlike the animated verbal exchange, he had with the on-field umpires minutes before rain completely took over the Chinnaswamy Stadium. The Indian captain was really eager to bowl one extra over and most likley that's what was being discussed between the two following the stumps on Day 4.

India battled back after being bowled out for a humiliating 46 in the first innings, only to be undone by a late attack from the seamers of New Zealand with the second new ball.

Day four of the opening Test saw India bowled out for 462 in their second innings, despite a magnificent 150 from Sarfaraz Khan and a quick-fire 99 from Rishabh Pant. This left New Zealand with a manageable target of 107 to win this match.
