Rain played spoilsport, causing a halt in the match on Thursday.

During the third Test against Australia in Sydney, Pakistani cricketer Aamer Jamal brought some light-hearted moments to the field on the second day. In a playful display of mind games, Jamal humorously commenced his delivery stride without actually holding a ball, right after the drinks break in the second session. This amusing act not only caught the batter off guard but also left the commentators, including cricket legends Wasim Akram and Michael Vaughan, thoroughly entertained.

However, the day's play was disrupted by weather conditions. Rain played spoilsport, causing a halt in the match on Thursday. The persistent rain and poor light conditions led to the cancellation of the entire third session, much to the disappointment of both teams and spectators.

Before the rain interruption, Pakistan had managed to make significant inroads into the Australian batting lineup. They successfully dismissed both Australian openers, David Warner and Usman Khawaja, leaving the home team at a slightly precarious 116-2 at the tea break. Marnus Labuschagne and Steve Smith were at the crease, with scores of 23 and 6 respectively, when the game was interrupted by the worsening light conditions, despite the floodlights being turned on.

The weather forecast for the remaining days of the Test looked mixed. The Australian Government’s Bureau of Meteorology predicted a 70 percent chance of rain for the rest of the day, along with a potential severe thunderstorm in the western region. The forecast for Friday also indicated a 50 percent probability of rain, mostly expected during the morning and early afternoon.

However, there seemed to be a silver lining for the weekend, as the likelihood of showers was predicted to decrease to between 20-30 percent on Saturday and Sunday. This gave hope for more uninterrupted play and a chance for either team to push for a result in the remaining days of the Test match.
