David Warner's wife tweeted a cryptic post after the opener hit 164 knocks in the first Test against Pakistan.

She targeted Mitchell Johnson in response to his remarks about Warner before the Peth Test.

David Warner's wife Candice reacted to her husband's sensational hundred in the opening Test series against Pakistan on December 14. She didn’t write a single word but used an emoji that targeted former Australia pacer Mitchell Johnson, who reckoned Warner should not have been allowed to play his farewell series.

The left-handed batter silenced his critics with an outstanding performance as he scored 164 off 211 on Day 1 of the first Test of the three-match series in Perth on December 14.

His dominating knock was studded with 16 fours and four sixes as Australia finished 346 for 5 after 84 overs at stumps.

Candice's cryptic post came soon after Warner scored his 26th Test century in his signature style. Candice took to ‘X’ to post a photo of Warner with a ‘stay quiet’ emoji, which was seemingly directed towards Johnson.

"It's my job to come out here and score runs, that was from the get-go to put pressure on the Pakistani bowlers," Warner, who had averaged only 32 in tests since the start of 2020, told Fox Cricket.

"There's going to be criticism but you've got to take that. There's no better way to silence them (than) by putting runs on the board."

In a newspaper column before the Test, former fast bowler Johnson lashed out at Warner over his Test farewell against Pakistan. According to Johnson, the 37-year-old didn’t deserve the honour. He also said that his name is in the biggest scandal in Australian cricket history as 'sandpaper-gate' ball-tampering controversy.

Johnson added that he is not worthy of a farewell Test match because he didn’t publicly apologise for the event. However, Warner will retire from Test cricket after the three-match series against Pakistan.

Following the end of the second session, Warner shared with Australia opener Adam Gilchrist that his celebration post hundred was the answer to his persistent criticism regarding his position.
