Mohammad Rizwan gave up a review during the second ODI between Australia and Pakistan which was being played at the Adelaide, after falling for Adam Zampa's bait. Zampa tried to hook shot a bouncer from Naseem Shah on the fourth delivery of the 34th over, which is when the incident happened. Rizwan, the wicketkeeper, pleaded for caught behind after safely pouching the ball.
Instead of talking to the bowler, Rizwan asked Zampa if he should go for a review, assuming that there had been contact with the bat. Zampa was also caught on stump mic saying that he is appealing for everything and gave him a green signal to take review after which the Pakistan captain did go upstairs
Rizwan waste review
The third umpire, Chris Brown, upheld the on-field call because the review indicated that the ball had not touched Zampa's bat when it was travelling into Rizwan's gloves. Australia was bundled out for 163 and Zampa was dismissed on the final ball of the following over, thus although Rizwan's act cost Pakistan a review, it did not cost them much.
With the wicketkeeping gloves on, Rizwan was nearly immaculate behind the stumps, despite his poor decision to burn a review. The recently chosen captain of Pakistan claimed up to six catches, matching the world and Pakistan records for the most catches (six) taken by a wicketkeeper in an ODI innings.
Haris Rauf's fifer
During the second ODI, Haris Rauf, the star fast bowler for Pakistan, had a spectacular spell that swept through the Pakistani batting. Rauf maintained his form from the first game, taking five wickets in eight overs to record his second five-wicket haul. His spell allowed Pakistan to consistently take wickets, keeping Australia under strain as they were bowled out for 163 in 35 overs.
