Faf Du Plessis stormed into history books after scoring a match-winning 52-ball 91 for Texas Super Kings in the MLC 2025 match

Faf du Plessis etched his name in the annals of the 28th match of Major League Cricket (MLC) 2025. His remarkable innings of 91 runs, achieved in just 52 balls, was instrumental in leading the Texas Super Kings to a decisive 51-run victory over the Seattle Orcas.

Furthermore, in addition to his match-winning performance, this innings propelled Du Plessis past Virat Kohli to claim the distinguished title of the highest-ever run-scorer as a captain in the history of T20 International cricket.

Du Plessis' explosive batting display propelled the Texas Super Kings to a total of 188 runs. During this innings, the former captain of the South African cricket team achieved a remarkable milestone, reaching a career total of 6,575 runs.

Du Plessis' stellar performance allowed him to surpass the previous T20 International captaincy record of 6,564 runs held by the esteemed Indian cricketer, Virat Kohli.
