Smriti Mandhana scripts history, becomes fastest Indian woman to notch this massive milestone

Smriti Mandhana etched her name in the history books as she became the fastest Indian woman cricketer to amass 4000 runs in One-Day Internationals.

Smriti Mandhana achieved this massive milestone during India's first One-Day International (ODI) against Ireland on January 10 at the Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Rajkot.

 With this Smriti Mandhana has joined an elite group of women cricketers worldwide. She is now the 15th woman globally to surpass the 4000-run mark in ODIs. She is only the second Indian woman, after the legendary Mithali Raj, to reach this massive milestone.
 

Smriti Mandhana notched the big feat in her 95th One-Day International match. This makes her the fastest Indian woman and the third-fastest woman cricketer globally to reach 4000 runs in this format.

Moreover, Smriti Mandhana holds the distinction of being the first Indian woman to achieve this milestone within her first 100 innings. While Mithali Raj remains the undisputed leader in Indian women's ODI runs with a staggering 7805 runs, Mandhana has now secured the second position on this prestigious list.

Smriti Mandhana enjoyed a phenomenal year in 2024. She concluded the year as the leading run-scorer in both One Day Internationals (ODIs) and Twenty20 Internationals (T20Is). Furthermore, she achieved a historic feat by breaking the record for the most international runs scored by a woman cricketer across all formats in a single calendar year.
