James Vince surpasses Faf du Plessis on elite list to break massive all-time T20 record
The England batter has broken a huge record and has become the player to score the most runs in T20 cricket as captain
Veteran England batter James Vince is captaining the Southern Brave in The Hundred 2025. The 34-year-old has played in T20 leagues all around the world and is nothing short of a legend when it comes to the shortest format.
Vince hasn't been in a great form so far in The Hundred. The batter has only managed to score a total of 96 runs in the first six matches for the Brave. He has only crossed the 10-run mark on a total of two occasions and his highest individual score so far is 41.
Despite his ongoing rough patch in the tournament, Vince managed to break a huge record with his inning of 29 runs against the Welsh Fire on Wednesday. The batter surpassed Faf du Plessis to become the player to score the most T20 runs as captain. Notably, the likes of Virat Kohli, MS Dhoni and Rohit Sharma are also present on the elite list.

Notably, Vince is also the eight-highest run-getter in T20s with 12,557 runs under his belt from 449 matches. He has 80 half-centuries and 7 hundreds under his name in the format alongwith a strike-rate of 135.82. With him still featuring in T20 leagues frequently, his run-tally will increase even more.
Meanwhile, despite having represented England in all the formats, Vince hasn't been in the side's plans for two years now. His last international appearance came in March, 2023 in an ODI against Bangladesh. Since then, the batter hasn't been able to make a comeback to the team in any of the three formats. He has played in 13 Tests, 25 ODIs and 17 T20Is for the England cricket team.
