Jos Buttler needs to score 4 runs in T20I series against South Africa to break this massive record
Buttler is just 4 runs shy of surpassing Jonny Bairstow and becoming the highest run-scorer in T20Is held between England and South Africa

England batter Jos Buttler has been in fine form in the shortest format. His previous T20I assignment was against West Indies and was contested earlier this year in June. The 34-year-old ended up being a nightmare for the Windies as he scored 165 runs in the three matches and was a key reason why the Three Lions sweeped the series 3-0.

Buttler will now be featuring in the three-match T20I series against South Africa which is set to commence from September 10. The batter will definitely be looking to maintain his fine form in the upcoming assignment where England will be hoping to turn the tables on the Proteas, who defeated them in the one-day series.

Buttler will need to score just 4 runs in the upcoming series against South Africa to become the highest run-getter in T20Is held between England and the Proteas. He is currently second on the list behind his former teammate Jonny Bairstow.

Meanwhile, Buttler has also been a part of England's playing XI in the 2 ODIs tahat they have so far played in the three-match series against South Africa. Even though they lost both the matches, the batter's performance in the second match was promising as he played a gritty knock of 61 runs in the side's narrow 5-run defeat.
