Suryakumar Yadav needs 19 runs in T20Is to surpass Glenn Maxwell on this elite list

India T20I captain Suryakumar Yadav helped the side in emerging victorious over arch-rivals Pakistan in Asia Cup 2025. He did so by playing a match-winning knock of 47 that guided the Men in Blue to the 128-run target.

Though Suryakumar hadn't been in a great touch in T20Is ahead of the Asia Cup, his performance for the Mumbai Indians in IPL 2025 certainly helped him in regaining his form. Notably, the 35-year-old finished with a total of 717 runs under his belt in the campaign.

Suryakumar currently stands as the non-opener with the fifth-most runs in T20Is. He is now just 19 runs behind from surpassing Australia's Glenn Maxwell on the elite list. This shows how the India captain is one of the finest modern-day batters in the shortest format.
