1. Wiaan Mulder - 367* vs Zimbabwe, 2025

2. Hashim Amla - 311* vs England, 2012

3. AB de Villiers - 278* vs Pakistan, 2010

Mulder's triple-century saw South Africa post a mammoth first-inning total of 626/5 on the board against Zimbabwe. The batter could have added even more runs to his and the team's score if the Proteas didn't decide to declare ahead of the second session on Day 2.

Mulder's fabulous knock may have been the catalyst to South Africa posting a humongous total on the board, however the 27-year-old was assisted well by both David Bedingham (82) and Lhuan-dre Pretorious (78), who gave valiant contributions to the Proteas' total.

The unbeaten inning of 367 also saw Mulder overtake Shubman Gill and become the player with the highest individual score in Test cricket in 2025 so far. The India captain recently played a sensational knock of 269 against England at Edgbaston and broke the record, however it has now been shattered again. Mulder's teammate Ryan Rickelton occupies the third spot on the list with his inning of 259 against Pakistan which came earlier this year in January.
