A small man with a big heart, Ncube is a right handed medium-fast bowler who made his debut for Zimbabwe in 2011 in the home series against New Zealand. He considers South African speedster, Makhaya Ntini as his role model for his aggression and commitment. He made his debut for the national team on the back of good performances in the domestic circuit and followed this up with a sparkling three wicket haul in his debut game, picking the wickets of Nicol, McCullum and Ross Taylor to put the brakes on the opposition scoring rate. Zimbabwe went on to win a high scoring match following that.

Due to this good performance, he was retained for the Test squad but was unable to transfer his ODI form to the longer format of the game ending the Test with just a solitary wicket. He is a promising prospect for the Rhodesians though who have made a comeback to the Test arena after a hiatus.
