Ranji Trophy 2022-23: Uttarakhand star bowler's 8-fer flattens Himachal Pradesh for mere 49, picks 4 wickets in 5 balls causing four ducks

Uttarakhand's star bowler Deepak Dhapola ran riot with his spectacular bowling riding on an eight-fer to annihilate Himachal Pradesh to just 49 in Ranji Trophy 2022-2023's Elite Group A match on Tuesday (December 27).

 

Bowling first, Dhapola bowled a magnificent spell of 8/35 and paired with Abhay Negi (2/5) to send the entire Himachal side packing in just 16.3 overs.

 

Himachal Pradesh were off to a jolty start as Dhapola dismissed Raghav Dhawan for a duck on the very first ball of the innings. Since then, there was no looking back for the 32-year-old as kept taking wickets in regular intervals. Dhapola didn't let Himachal heave a sigh even for a second as he sent Prashant Chopra (1) , Ankit Kalsi (26) and Amit Kumar (6) and Akash Vasisht (4) and Mayank Dagar (0) to pavilion in no time to leave the opponent teetering at 44/7.

 

Later, Negi followed it up by dismissing Uttarakhan skipper Rishi (5) and Praveen Thakur (0) in his spell of five overs. Dhapola returned to munch on the wickets of Pankaj Jaswal (5) and Vaibhav Arora (0) to sum up Uttarakhand's innings.

 

Dhapola snared four wickets in his last five balls and sent three batters for a duck.
