The 2025-26 Ranji Trophy season has started on October 15, and players are putting in impressive performances in different matches every day. Many Indian players are taking part in this tournament to make their international comeback, and on the other hand, uncapped stars are performing brilliantly to get their maiden national call-up.

Here's the report card of some notable batters and bowlers who are featuring in the Ranji Trophy 2025. 

Sarfaraz Khan: Sarfaraz Khan made his debut against England in 2024 and last played a Test against New Zealand the same year. Since then, he has not been able to return to the Indian team. Sarfaraz has been trying hard to make a comeback through his performances. He even lost weight to improve his chances. However, he has not done well in the current Ranji Trophy. Playing for Mumbai, he scored 42 and 32 against Srinagar in the first match, and only 1 run against Chandigarh. His form did not improve against Rajasthan, where he scored 15 and 5. He was later dismissed for 16 against Himachal and 67 against Puducherry. Overall, he has scored 178 runs in five matches.

Karun Nair: Karun Nair is currently out of the Indian team. He was given an opportunity in the series against England but could not make the most of it. After that, Chairman of Selectors Ajit Agarkar dropped him, saying they had given him enough chances. Still, Karun continued to work hard and played the Ranji Trophy for Karnataka. He has played five matches so far, scoring 602 runs at an average of 100.33 and a strike rate of 59.96. He has two centuries and two fifties.

Rinku Singh: Rinku Singh has been performing consistently well in domestic cricket. He plays for Uttar Pradesh in the Ranji Trophy. He played his first match against Andhra and then faced Tamil Nadu. In the first match, he scored a century and remained unbeaten on 165. In the current match against Tamil Nadu, he has scored 176 runs.

Prithvi Shaw: Prithvi Shaw has been out of the Indian team for a long time, so he is trying to prove himself again in domestic cricket, though earning a place back in the team is challenging. Shaw is playing for Maharashtra after leaving Mumbai before the season. In the five matches he has played, he has scored 470 runs at an average of 67.14 and a strike rate of 92.33. He has one century and three fifties.

Hanuma Vihari: Hanuma Vihari has also been out of the Indian team for a long period. He last played a Test in 2022. Despite this, he is performing well in the Ranji Trophy. He has changed his team and is now playing for Tripura. Vihari has scored 377 runs in five matches at an average of 47.12 and a strike rate of 49.15. He has two centuries.

Ruturaj Gaikwad: Ruturaj Gaikwad plays for Maharashtra and has not yet made his Test debut for India, although he has played ODIs and T20s. He has played three Ranji Trophy matches this season, scoring 298 runs at an average of 149.00 and a strike rate of 69.30. He has one century and two fifties.

Ishan Kishan: Ishan Kishan is currently out of the Indian team because of poor form and because he did not follow the BCCI’s direction to play domestic cricket. His performance in the Ranji Trophy has also not been very impressive. Playing for Jharkhand, he has scored 246 runs in three matches at an average of 83 and a strike rate of 68.14. His highest score is 173, and he has one century.

Yashasvi Jaiswal: Yashasvi Jaiswal is playing for Mumbai and has played only one match so far. In that match, he scored 223 runs at an average of 111.50 and a strike rate of 82.28. He has scored one century and one fifty.

Ajinkya Rahane: Ajinkya Rahane plays for Mumbai. He has played four matches and scored 209 runs at an average of 3.83 and a strike rate of 45.63. Rahane is also out of the Indian team.

Mohammed Shami: Mohammed Shami recovered from injury and then started playing domestic cricket again to earn his place back in the Indian team. He has played four Ranji Trophy matches for Bengal and has taken 20 wickets at an average of 17.55 and an economy rate of 2.59, giving away 351 runs.

Shardul Thakur: Shardul Thakur is currently out of the Indian team. He plays for Mumbai in the Ranji Trophy. Thakur has played five matches and has taken 10 wickets at an average of 28.00 and an economy rate of 3.72.
