Agni Chopra yet again scored a century in the ongoing Ranji Trophy season.

He scored a brilliant 164 off 150 balls against Nagaland.

Batting sensation Agni Chopra, the son of renowned filmmaker Vidhu Vinod Chopra, made a remarkable debut in the Ranji Trophy few days back. Playing for Mizoram, Agni scored a notable 166 runs against Sikkim, who had set a formidable score of 442/9. Despite his effort, Mizoram were all out for 214 and had to follow on. In the second innings, the 25-year-old contributed a strong 92 runs, helping Mizoram set a target of 170 for Sikkim. Agni's performance was highlighted by 30 fours and eight sixes across both innings. Nevertheless, Mizoram faced a four-wicket defeat to Sikkim in Nadiad.

Agni continued his batting blitz in the subsequent match against Nagaland as he struck a towering 164 off 150 balls, significantly contributing to Mizoram's lead. His innings included 21 fours and three sixes, further establishing his prowess in India's premier red-ball tournament.

Agni was born in Detroit, Michigan, USA, on November 4, 1998. He is the son of filmmaker Vidhu Vinod Chopra and the distinguished author Anupama Chopra.

Agni's father, Vidhu, is currently celebrating the success of his film '12th Fail', which was released on October 27, 2023. Agni began his cricketing journey with Mumbai's junior teams, participating in several Cooch-Behar Trophy matches. However, unable to secure a place in Mumbai's first team, he shifted his base to Mizoram in pursuit of better opportunities.

He made his debut for Mizoram in a Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy match against Chhattisgarh last October, scoring a modest five runs in his first outing.

To date, Agni has played in seven List-A and T20 matches, scoring a total of 174 and 234 runs in each format, respectively.
