A couple of days earlier, Johannesburg Super Kings' skipper Faf du Plessis took a stunner against MI Cape Town to stun the crowd at Wanderers Stadium. It seems like Du Plessis has inspired a revolution in the franchise as Romario Shepherd took an absolute one-handed screamer that did not just stun the batter but made bowler Nandre Burgerโs jaw drop. Burger had his hands on his mouth like Stuart Broad had when he took eight wickets in an innings against Australia in 2015.ย

In the fourth over, Matthew Breetzke got on strike on the fifth delivery after JJ Smuts took a single. Burger bowled a short of the length delivery. Breetzke hung back in the crease, got one leg, and played a whip-like shot towards the leg side Shepherd who was fielding at mid-wicket showed quick reflexes as he timed his jump to perfection and plucked the ball out of thin air.
Super Kingsโ players rushed to congratulate Shepherd for taking an excellent catch to get rid of the in-form batter. Burger was still recovering from the catch and his jaw dropped once again when he looked at it on the big screen at Kingsmead, Durban in slow motion.ย
ย
Breetzke turned out to be the only wicket for Burger in the innings. The left-arm pacer was economical conceding 22 runs from his quota of four overs.ย
ย
Durban Super Giants lost their top order for just 27 runs in the first five overs. Then they lost Wiaan Mulder on the first ball after powerplay overs. From 34/4, Heinrich Klaasen single-handedly helped Super Giants post a respectable total of 145/8 on the board. Klaasen scored 64 runs from 41 balls including seven fours and a couple of sixes. Lizaad Williams was the pick of the bowlers as he picked up four wickets for 26 runs.
ย
While Shepherd was acrobatic in the field taking two catches, he was the most expensive bowler. The Caribbean pacer took the wicket of Keemo Paul but conceded 40 runs from four overs.ย
