The Punjab Cricket Association (PCA) will start the inaugural edition of the Sher-e-Punjab T20 Cup 2023, or the Punjab Premier League, on Thursday, July 13. The tournament will be hosted at the IS Bindra PCA Stadium in Mohali and will have six teams — Knights, Blasters, Strikers, Phantoms, Falcons and Stallions.
Unlike the usual intricacies of a T20 league, this tournament will not have a draft or an auction for selecting players. Instead, the state association selectors will finalise the squads, captains, coaches, as well as the remaining members of the support staff.
The tournament will be played in the usual round-robin format, with the top four teams qualifying for the knockouts. Both the semi-finals will be held on July 28, and the final will be held two days later on July 30.
