Sher-e-Punjab T20 Cup: Consecutive top performances by MI youngster gives Trident Stallions consecutive victories

Mumbai Indians (MI) young batter Nehal Wadhera once again shone with the bat with an impressive innings of 80 runs in 37 balls in the Sher-e Punjab T20 Cup being played in Punjab while troubling the bowlers with the bat. Playing for the Trident Stallions, his innings helped the team chase down the target of 175 runs for the loss of 4 wickets in 17.1 overs as they defeated JKSuper Strikers by 6 wickets.


Sanvir Singh hit 83 runs


JKSuper Strikers did not get off to a good start with two of their batters returning to the pavilion with the score reading 44 runs. Then Sanvir Singh entered the party while batting at number three. He scored 83 runs in 49 balls with 6 fours and 5 sixes to his name, taking his team to 174 runs for 5 wickets in the stipulated 20 overs. Aryaman Singh took two wickets for the Trident Stallions, who were in search of their third win of the season.


Nehal did the did with his 80 runs


Chasing a target of 175 runs, the Trident Stallions lost two wickets after scoring just 30 runs. Nehal Wadhera, coming in at number three, was among the best batters and hit the ball very powerfully. He single-handedly turned the match around with his 80 runs in 37 balls. He smashed 9 fours and 4 sixes while troubling the bowlers of JK Super Strikers.

Apart from Nehal, Salil Arora scored 26 runs for Trident Stallions with two sixes in 15 balls.


BLV Blasters continue top-of-the-table domination


In the other game, the Hampton Falcons were beaten by table-toppers BLV Blasters. They were given a target of 180 for the win and the top order of Sehaj Dhawan (25), Jaish Jain (36) and Naman Dhir (48) scored the bulk of the runs. The same can also be said about the Falcons, after Anshul Chaudhary (69) and Prabhjot Singh (37) gave them the perfect start.

However, Prerit Dutta and Naman Dhir chipped in with the wickets and the team's bowling in the death overs took the game away from their opponents, who they defeated by one run.
