Harmanpreet Kaur-led Indian women's cricket team defeated Laura Wolvaardt's South Africa women by 10 wickets in the one-off Test which was being played at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai, on July 1 (Monday). This is Indian women's third consecutive win in red-ball cricket in a span of 9 months. They previously defeated England and Australia. Sneh Rana was awarded the Player of the Match award for 10 wickets she took across two innings and one of them even witnessed an 8-wicket haul.

India create history with 603/6

Sneh Rana's 8-fer put SA through follow-on

Sneh Rana grabbed an 8-wicket haul as she became the second Indian women's bowler to accomplish this and helped the hosts to bowl out Proteas women on 266 runs in the first innings. She was the star pick of the bowlers and played a key role in putting SA through follow-on.

SA avoid loss by an inning

South Africa were on the back foot and were at the point where they could have suffered defeat by an inning but they valiantly fought back. Laura Wolvaardt AND Sune Luus smashed amazing centuries and led the Proteas' fight back. They helped SA get over India's lead but it was not enough to stop India from winning. Indian spinners counter-attacked and this time restricted SA on 373. India only had a target of 37 runs that Indian openers Shafali Verma and Shubha Satheesh chased down by the 9.2 overs in the final session of the final day.
