The Proteas made one change from the squads that played the ODI and Test series. In-form batter Chloe Tryon rejoins the team after recovering from a back injury. Tryon has wasted no time acclimatizing, already arriving in India and participating in a net session in Chennai. South Africa will be without all-rounders Delmi Tucker and Nondumiso Shangase, who featured in the previous formats but will return home before the T20Is. Wicketkeeper-batter Mieke de Ridder, who played in two of the three ODIs against India last month, remains part of the squad for the upcoming T20 series.

"We're excited with the 15-player squad that has been selected for the T20I series. We also have Chloe back in the team after recovering from an injury. She brings a lot of experience to the team and we can't wait to see her back on the field," said South Africa Women's Interim Head Coach Dillon du Preez.

"We have our last three T20I matches against India. This will give us some time to look at one or two options before we go home and start our final preparation for the T20 World Cup in Bangladesh," added du Preez.
