The Indian women's cricket team is likely to have a new head coach sooner rather than later. Sports Tak has learned that three candidates have been shortlisted for the job and the interviews are scheduled to be held on June 30 (Friday). Former Mumbai cricketer and coach Amol Muzumdar, who has been shortlisted for the job, remains the front-runner to be the Indian women's team head coach. The other two candidates are Tushar Arothe and Jon Lewis.

Tushar Arothe is a former Baroda all-rounder, who also has the experience of coaching the West Zone team in the Duleep Trophy. When it comes to Lewis, the former English cricketer is the current head coach of the England women's cricket team.

The Indian women's cricket team has had no head coach for around six months now. Harmanpreet Kaur's team was playing under interim coach Hrishikesh Kanitkar after Ramesh Pawar joined the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in December 2022 to work under NCA chief VVS Laxman.
