In a massive blow to Mumbai Emerging Team, their star opener Angkrish Raghuvanshi has been ruled out of the England tour due to thumb injury. The Kolkata Knight Riders' batter has picked up a minor fracture to his right thumb and had to return home for treatment. Suryansh Shedge-led Mumbai Emerging Team kicked off their month-long tour of England on June 28. This initiative was organised by the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) with the aim of providing young cricketers with an opportunity to refine their skills and gain valuable experience in overseas conditions.
According to reports from Times of India, the MCA has yet to announce a replacement for Raghuvanshi in the touring squad. His inability to continue on the tour stemmed from an injury, described as a slight fracture, sustained during their time in England.
Angkrish Raghuvanshi has quickly established himself as a promising young talent for both Mumbai in domestic cricket and for KKR in the Indian Premier League (IPL). At the age of 21, he has already featured in 22 IPL matches for the Kolkata Knight Riders, amassing 463 runs at an impressive average of nearly 29. Prior to this setback, he also played effectively for the SoBo Mumbai Falcons, playing a key role in their journey to the final, despite a less impactful season in 2025.
The Mumbai touring squad comprises experienced players from the Ranji Trophy and is supported by a six-member staff. The squad manager for the tour is MCA treasurer Arman Mallick, while the head coaching responsibilities are being handled by former Mumbai player Kiran Powar. As of the current time, there has been no official report or statement released detailing the specifics of Raghuvanshi's injury or identifying any responsible parties. The Mumbai Cricket Association has also not provided any further information regarding this matter.
