Bhuvneshwar Kumar, who conceded just 29 runs in his four-over spell in which he also took a wicket, reached the 300-wicket milestone in T20 cricket after dismissing Delhi opener Yash Dhull in his second over. This was his first competitive match since the IPL 2024, and he showcased his exceptional bowling skills.

Among Indian bowlers, only Yuzvendra Chahal (354), Piyush Chawla (314), and R Ashwin (310) have taken more T20 wickets than Bhuvneshwar. He has been a consistently outstanding pacer in the T20 format and has made significant contributions to the Indian cricket team.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar represented the Indian T20I team from 2012 to 2022, claiming 90 wickets. His final T20I appearance was in the semi-final of the 2022 T20 World Cup against England.

Bhuvneshwar made his T20 debut in 2009 for Royal Challengers Bangalore in the Champions League T20. In his debut match at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium, he went wicketless, conceding 31 runs in four overs against Delhi Daredevils. Following his debut, Bhuvneshwar Kumar made a significant impact in the T20 format. He is also one of the most successful bowlers in the history of the Indian Premier League. As the leading wicket-taker among fast bowlers in the IPL, he has claimed 181 wickets in 176 matches.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar, who played for Sunrisers Hyderabad in IPL 2024, was not retained by the franchise. After a decade-long association with the team, he will be entering the IPL 2025 auction, scheduled for November 24th and 25th in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. Bhuvneshwar Kumar, the first Indian pacer to achieve five-wicket hauls in all three formats of the game, has set a base price of INR 2 crore for the auction.
